Absolutely, there's enough to do (and spend) on a well-maintained boat just to keep her that way. And deferred maintenance is a very slippery slope leading quickly to a trashed boat. As for the happy wife, I'm sometimes reminded how much I spent to buy the boat, how much for haulage, and how much in maintenance. Of course, the bottom-line figure from the spousal side is always inflated and grows with time, but at least I don't get accused of buying into a trashed fixer-upper. Thanks for small mercies.

That would explain why there are no photos of the hull interiors, except for ONE berth...

One really needs to compare the older pics in post #1 to the newer pics in post #2. It's hard to believe they are only a couple years apart. I suspect the first photos were from an earlier time when it first went into charter.
DOCHO, hope I didn't come across as an ahole earlier. That was not my intent.

Re: 2003 Lagoon 41 for $128K!

Ther are actually three 41' Lagoons at Harel's in St Martin.
They are all the same price, same owner.
The pics and ad is for another catamaran, not the one for sale.
The Harels have surveys for each cat, but it is in French.

Re: 2003 Lagoon 41 for $128K!

Got a robo email a couple of days ago for a L380 at $140,000. Good price but who knows about condition. No pics or data. Probably charter. I'm interested but not that interested. PM if you want the stuff.

Re: 2003 Lagoon 41 for $128K!

Hi there,

if been there and had a look to all 4 L410.
The Boats are in Le Marin Martinique and look very very bad.
All on different conditions, the two boats on the ad are different.
One is Fastnet the other is Balicious and they ar the better looking once.
I visited all 4 and found that all hulls are well, but it a lot lot work to do.

I think they will sell at 85k Euro or less.
I have all 4 reviews but in french.

I about NOT to BUY!

Best Reinhard

Re: 2003 Lagoon 41 for $128K!

I've heard that if you are willing to put around $40,000.00 US into things like rebuilding 2 disel motors and saildrives and rigging and re doing the shiny finished interior and all the deck hinges/hardwear and windows that are checked from UV damage you would have a nice catamaran.

Just wondering if anyone went to see any of these 410s. (didn't someone say there were 3 of them for sale, all about the same condition). Were any of them bought?

Re: 2003 Lagoon 41 for $128K!

Looking at these pic's Sandcrab is correct, essentially you would be buying a bare hull with rig, from there every screw/bolt/fixture/piece machinery would have to be removed and refurbished.

Interior wise all timber surfaces need stripping, some joints re-glued and lots spot filler.

Deck cargo to Thailand would be the go, oversee the project and probably budget all up 210k USD and you would have a nicely finished cat in Asia, in a depressed market as we have now you would entertain buying at 80k to 90k USD..

BUT check out ownership/liens/mortgages big time!!!!!

Would be fun .......

Re: 2003 Lagoon 410 for $128K!

4 of them for sale...may have been for sale for years? I would think a really low ball offer is in order. They might bite just to get rid of one. Supply and demand will eventually take over and they have a lot of supply with almost no demand at this price.
