Crew Available: USVI or Puerto Rico to Panama or Costa Rica?

My wife and I are looking for a ride from the USVI or Puerto Rico to Panama or Costa Rica in mid-December...I know, kind of a longshot. We simply are trying to avoid flying back to Miami in order to get to Panama (final destination Bocas Del Toro) and we're looking for something different. We both spend a good deal of time on boats in our hometown of Westhampton Beach NY, but are NOT experienced crew. We are fit and happy to work by instruction though. I do some offshore fishing locally on sportfishing boats (Viking, Ocean Yacht, Cabo). Neither of us know anything about sailing though, but we are quick learners. We both like to get our hands dirty, help out, cook, clean, etc.
