Yeah, sorry I don't feel shamed at all. As David Said; one post talking about body shape, pole dancing etc and I'm supposed to say wow, that looks legit! Pluh-ease. Some of you have a weird version of feminism.

Right, the heterosexual captains.

This thread has got to rate as a CF classic!

The OP is either mortified or hospitalized with cramping from laughing herself silly. I think the latter as she is a veteran and probably dealt with similar situations.

But hey don't stop! This is a hoot to read.

Or himself...more likely in my mind. And yes it's a classic regardless....

Well, never thought of myself as a Puritan... But I think my post had more to do with courtesy than puritanism. Anyway, judging by some of the responses for all I know the joke may have been on me; I'm done with taking things at face value! Will never get the hang of this internet thing... Anyway, I think I'll give it a rest. My comments weren't aimed at you anyway

Sounds like she's having fun!
Haha, something like that.

Thanks to Mike and Laura @Gilana for reminding me about this thread, I am both amazed and amused that it is still active.

I never got around to sail the Atlantic last year, but hope to do so this year. Let me know if you too are heading into the blue!

Re: Swedish girl looking for Transatlantic crew opportunities in Dec 2012

Since my only comment on this thread was directed to Gilana, saying this adventurous young lady probably reminds them of Liz, their daughter, I guess I'll join in. The posters that thought Mei could be a troll, always best to give the benefit of doubt and accept what a new poster presents in a fast intro. I've tried to get Laura Dekker to join CF, she tells me she is too busy, but should she join I would hope that folks accept her and not question if she is real or a troll.

Just my $0.02 worth, and not even worth that much.

Hi Mei
Welcome back!

North pole expedition looks amazing.

Did you indulge in the traditional vodka and caviar celebration when reaching it? No problems keeping the vodka slushy on a trip like this .

What's next?

Cheers

Thank you. I've read your blog in its entirety, from your description of Gilana and her systems to Liz's blogs. She and I work in the same industry, she got an earlier start as I didn't enroll in the academy till my mid 40's.

When Mei posted, I thought of Liz and Laura, both self confident, adventuresome young ladies. The early responses to her thread had me wanting to stay clear. I did till you posted, and you confirmed my initial impression was correct, so I finally put up a post. When Mei posted her North Pole pictures I figured some of those posters were eating crow from their sarcastic remarks. Then I flashed on if Laura Dekker would take me up on joining CF, what if she got the response Mei got, so decided to throw that out there to the folks that are quick on the trigger for making assumptions on a new poster.

How is life on Bonaire?

Good luck! Should be easy compared to the Arctic!
