St. Augustine to Port St. Lucie, FL

Planning 3 upcoming trips and would enjoy the company of experienced crew.

The boat is a Prout Quest 31 catamaran with spacious interior and many recent upgrades. Well provisioned and I always get compliments on my cooking.

1. Early December 2015: St. Augustine to Port St. Lucie, FL. Prefer offshore with or without overnight, ICW if conditions unfavorable.

2. Early April 2016: Ft. Myers to Port St. Joe (Panama CIty) FL.

3. April 2016: Panama City, FL to Long Island NY via Okeechobee and atlantic offshore.

Unpaid, I will provide sufficient provisioning for all onboard meals and pay all boat costs.

You would cover your own transport to and from the boat and personal expenses ashore.

So you basically just need help with the delivery portions? Nothing in between?

Not sure what your asking. My schedule is flexible and my contract flying is sporadic with options to pass up trips . I enjoy the passages and some limited hanging out as required and convenient for you.

Re: St. Augustine to Port St. Lucie, FL

the first trip to port st lucie is just 2-3 day delivery or crew could stay on until Ft Myers via canal. For the trip to Panama CIty area in APril I plan to stay in the area for about a week fishing in St. Joe Bay. Then disembark back thru okeechobee waterway for trip north. Crew is welcome to stay for both legs. my cell: 484 888 5779

Hi Joe, I/d be interested in joining for leg #3, and wow, no slouch there, just from the canal exit to Long Is is like 900 nm +/-, and all of 300 nm to get to and through the canal, so all of two weeks, maybe most of three with 3/4 of that a ways out, sound about right? Just wanted to get a sense, what you had been planning/expecting. I'll PM w/ the CV, of course and a bit more discussion. Sounds like a good sail.

Ft. Myers

Thanks,

The st augustine to ft myers leg is complete. April 1 to Panama City and on to Long Island still in planning. There is much interest in non-compensated crewing which is appropriate for me as I gained most of my experience as non-paid crew. I'll correspond further in the coming weeks. Ft. Myers is a beautiful place to winter!

Looks like an amazing trip! Wish I could join. Looking for adventure after I finish university in May 2016. Let me know if you're heading anywhere. My girlfriend may also be interested as well. Hope to talk soon! Best, Alexander

Re: St. Augustine to Port St. Lucie, FL

Hello Joe,
I would be interested in helping with your Florida to New York leg...if indeed, that you still need crew then.
I live in Eastern PA...so this would be a cakewalk for me, logistically.
I have never sailed true Blue water passages...Captained 3 BVI 10 day charters....Note: I am NOT a Credit Card Captain...I have respect for the boat and the locale/people. 20+ years sail experience...Handy and Creative.
I am sure that I can be a reliable asset. I'm 58 and, mostly, still keep up with the kids. Can you relate? Ha !
Anyway..I'm looking to broaden my experience with passages..I Really want to see the open ocean...more than I have.
As a charterer for so many years...I have the advantage of many varied rigs..and fixing many things...did I mention MANY? I am truly easy to work with, and be with..can cook..am a guitarist..I assume there's room for that on a Cat....
My only experience with a sail cat is on a Bahia 46 for 10 days in the BVI...Saw some water...8 to 10 feet...but nothing really big...did leave the Islands and headed for Africa for a bit....I Loved it
I would handle my own travel accommodations.
What would be your approximate time range for this leg? Sorry, at this point in the post, I can no longer see if you posted that...Thanks.
Let me know if interested...Thanks much.
