there are no thermals rising in the Sacramento Valley to suck air through the Gate. For some weird reason SF temps are almost 70.

Thanks All for your varied advice and support. Moved our sail date to Saturday, August 3 due to slightly better tides. Yes, plan to leave early in the AM near the end of the ebb and catch the flood north. Planning to hammer it out in one day. We're prepared for most anything and planning on a great day on the bay. Send us your good thoughts.
