Crew Available: Sailing the Chesapeake ?

I'm looking for some local day or weekend sailing in the WASH DC/Annapolis area. My wife and I plan to buy a boat soon and I/we need some experience. I'll buy the food and drink?

I began learning to sail a Flying Scott last summer and I think I have the basics down. I took a Power Squadron class and a basic sailing class at Belle Haven Marina.

Sorry, but that's the limit of my experience. Well, that and about a gazillion hours of studying and dreaming about boats and cruising.

I am 48, in reasonably good condition, and retired so I am available anytime.

I'm up near Annapolis, MD. The air is pretty light this time of year, punctuated by afternoon/evening T-storms and squalls. This translates to hours of boredom punctuated by an hour of "Oh S---!" in the afternoon. The goal is to be at the dock or on the hook before this happens.

Just letting you know what's in store.

It's the "Oh S**t! moments that I most look forward to!

These moments are fine on someone else's boat but if it's your boat they're no fun at all.

My boat is a little further north than you may wish but we can see if we can arrange something in the near future if you like.

I try to avoid those OS moments though.
