Sailing in Texas

I am college student looking to learn more about sailing! I have little experience sailing, but I am quick and easy to learn. I am an outdoor person who loves adventure. I've sailed in cancun and in the cayman islands. If there is anyone in Texas or neighboring areas I would love it if you offered your time. I live by Galveston, Tx and love the water.

Re: Sailing in Texas

Howdy!

My friendly suggestion: do a search on net for Sailing Texas website. It is a group based in the Houston Kemah area as I recall. It has many links to sailing info you should find helpful.

Good luck!

Re: Sailing in Texas

Welcome to Cruiser's Forum. There are some members that sail out of the Kemah area. Maybe someone will reply. If you want some offshore sailing, try to get a spot as crew on a boat doing the Harvest Moon Regatta - https://regattanetwork.com/clubmgmt/...egatta_id=8950

Good luck!

Re: Sailing in Texas

What college? Texas A&M @ Galveston has a great sailing team. There are also clubs like the Texas city dike yacht club that meet most weekends on the dike for catamaran sailing. gBCA runs lots of regattas out if kemah and their website has a roster of people looking for crew or to crew.

A very unique opportunity in Galveston is to crew on the ELISSA. Its a big commitment, but well worth it.
