Arrow Sailing around or from Boston or the northeast in mid-Nov

I'm going to be helping a friend move from Charleston up to Boston in mid-November. So, if anybody in the Boston area needs crew or a hand with boatwork I'd love to help out and do some sailing up there.

I'm an easygoing 34 year old photographer and writer/editor. I'm a non-smoker, avoid drugs, and have some inshore and coastal sailing experience but no offshore time as yet. I'm easy to get along with and capable of standing watch and following directions.

Also, if you're going to be heading south from the northeast around then I'd love to crew for you. I'm looking to gain experience, not just at tranquil anchorages but with the sailing and cruising life as a whole, so I'm happy to pitch in on boatwork or whatever else you need done. I have limited experience, so don't ask me to re-rig your boat singlehanded, but I can clean and sand and varnish, and can probably do most anything that you can show me once.

I'll be able to get myself to and from the boat, so if you're planning on sailing south from anywhere between Boston and like Annapolis around mid to late November I'd love to talk to and perhaps crew for you.

Oregon might be just a little bit out of the way from Boston Newt... but if/when my friends out there manage to drag my backside out there I'll definitely keep you in mind!

Have you been in Boston in late November? It can be cold on the water. Cold enough that if the wind is in your face I'd recommend ski goggles to keep your eyes from tearing. Be prepared to layer up and get yourself a good insulated watch cap.

In a previous life I spent a couple of winters up in the mountains of Colorado, and some time in Alaska, so I'm no stranger to cold. Layering and a good pair of gloves are your friends. Thanks for the warning though.

There is frostbite racing in the harbor through the winter. I'm not sure which club runs it though. Believe it's a soling fleet.

All the groups on the harbor frostbite. I love the crowd at courageous but those boats fill up fast. Great people and great sailors.
