Sail the Kimberly in Western Australia

Am looking for 1 x crewmember to sail from Darwin to Broom through the exciting Kimberly Coast of Western Australia from September/October 2013. The yacht is a Beneteau 50 with all the necessary gear of Offshore sailing. I have been sailing for over 20 years and this will be my 3rd cruise of the Kimberly. Anyone interested, sailing experience is not essential.

I will probably be travelling around India (overland) around that time but I would pull out my teeth with a pair of pliers to go with you. The Kimberly coast is on my must do one day.
I would love to know how the trip goes.

Re: Sail the Kimberly in Western Australia

Hello,

I am currently based in New Zealand where my visa will expire in September. I have no official plans for after New Zealand and am keen for an adventure!

I have river and lake sailing experience. I have 'captained' boats (flying scot; rainbow) in these environments with crew that have never sailed before.

I am really interested in learning more. I am a geographer at heart and am up for adventure!

Get in touch if you have any questions!

Cheers,
JJ

Re: Sail the Kimberly in Western Australia

Thanks for the reply. I may be able to join in on the last bit of the trip. Do you have any stops that I might be able to fly into to meet?

Cheers!

Re: Sail the Kimberly in Western Australia

Saw your name on cruising forum.

I am an active self funded retiree just returned from sailing 2 months in Indonesia (Freo to Bali) race in cruising division on friend's 60 ft ketch as captain/crew.

Previously circumnavigated Aus in own boat, worked on vessels when young and experience up and down the WA coast and overseas.

Have Aus Yacht master offshore.

Completed safety at sea and senior first aid recently.

Involved with "saleability" at RPYC

Avail now can find / fund my way to Darwin in early September

Not to Hijack your thread but I am leaving Dampier in the next 2 weeks and still looking for crew. Have advertised in a few places and am trying to sort a few dates out. She aint no 60 ft ketch but she is a solid well travelled boat. I helped dliver Johns UFO 34 ( freo - Bali race boat) back from Dampier to Gero if you know him I am sure ( Hope) he would sing my praises :-) let me know if you are intersested and will see how we can work in. I am heading south to Albany but a prettry leisurely pace.
