Pacific Ocean, Columbia bank, Cape Flattery and the straits.

I am currently vetting for crew sailing uphill on the Washington coast:
Dates: August 12 or so for going to San Juan's from Astoria.
September 18 or so for Seattle to Astoria return trip.
Looking for experienced crew for pay (one) and one or two other reliable sea people. If interested pm me or post. I will follow this thread.

Newt:
I'm interested, not really looking for pay. I have been sailing for about 5 years with 3 off shore passages. I have a swan 36 on the east coast but would love to get some experience on the pacific coast since I eventually plan to bring my boat back to Port Townsend.

I live in Eastern Oregon so it would be handy for me and probably could be flexible since I'm retired working part time.

If your interested we can plan further.

Thanks
ET

Re: Pacific Ocean, Columbia bank, Cape Flattery and the straits.

Thank you for those who have responded to me via PM. Just to bump and give a little more information:
Boat is a 1975 Valiant 40, already made the journey a half dozen times, does it about twice a year. Chartplotter, VHF/DSC, AIS, Dig. Radar. Ready to go.
Captain: 55 yo physician, nonsmoker/drinker into smoothies and exercise. Pretty easy going but does get compulsive about crossing the Columbia bank on the right tide and conditions.
Journey: 2-4 days, from Astoria Or, to Bellingham Washington. Will be happy to drop people off anywhere from Cape Flattery to Bellingham (including Port Townsend).
Expected to bring:
Personal Foulies
Sense of Humor
Plan for getting home from port of disembarkation. September we are just going to do the thing in reverse. If you have been a good hand coming up, remuneration is available for the downhill passage.

Tempting. But probably not feasible.

Have all but one crew. Leaving 9/15/13 early am from Neah bay. Must be able to take watch alone in the dark. PM if you want to go along.
