Pacific crossing Mexico to Tahiti and beyond

I'm looking for crew with offshore experience (1 person, maybe a couple) for a Pacific crossing from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to Tahiti, French Polynesia, and maybe beyond. Leaving Mexico early March, sailing 3-4 weeks non stop to the Marquesas Islands, then through the Tuamotus to Tahiti. Expected arrival in Tahiti early/mid May. Depending on other crew/guests/family, the position will be open from Tahiti through Cook Islands, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and eventual destination Australia.
The boat is a 1985 Pearson 36-2 in excellent shape, having sailed down from San Francisco in 2014. I'm a young (34) skipper with lots of offshore experience, looking forward to my first Pacific crossing!
If you're energetic, enthusiastic and don't mind living in a hot, constantly moving boat for weeks on end, in some of the most beautiful nature on the planet, get in touch...
There's a bit more background on me and the boat at Road and Ocean

Re: Pacific crossing Mexico to Tahiti and beyond

This is the exact trip I want to do but I don't have experience. I'm hoping to join a crew that is willing to take on someone who can cook and work hard in helping with whatever is needed. Good luck with everything.

Re: Pacific crossing Mexico to Tahiti and beyond

Hi!

This could be perfect!

My name is Shanan Wolfe. I am a young (22) female adventurer looking to sail to the South Pacific this spring. I have sailing experience: I lived on a Cooper 41 on and off growing up, spending a year on it in the Sea of Cortez when I was 12, and though I haven't done much water sailing">blue water sailing I am looking to do more.
I've spent the last 6 months traveling the states with my backpack. I'm competent, strong, adaptable, dependable, good company...

Can we talk more? My email is swolfe@lclark.edu.

Cant wait to hear from you.

Cheers,
-S

Hi Chris!

Visited your site...very exciting travels you've been having!
I'm a 29 year old man with some open water sailing experience.
No ocean crossings yet, but that is exactly what I'm hoping to do next.
I live in Oakland, so it'd be great to get together for a drink and chat.

Looking forward to it!

Re: Pacific crossing Mexico to Tahiti and beyond

Yes- Me too. Want to do this exact trip though you've likely found your crew and set sail! Would love to hear about it and or know of any Bay Area communities that would be up for meeting/strategizing! My family is from Tahiti and I've always dreamt of sailing there. Very knowledgeable about the islands and have visited all groups w/exception of Marquesas/Gambiers. Danielle
