OceansWatch currently has 2 vacancies in the South West Pacific. This is a great opportunity for anyone really wanting to “make a difference” in the world and experience the fascinating
remote cultures in
Vanuatu.
We need 1 experienced
skipper to deliver our 45' yacht from Whangarei (New Zealand) to Port Vila (Vanuatu) ASAP. The usual
skipper also runs the OceansWatch charity and is snowed under with
work so needs someone to help out for a couple of weeks to do the
delivery. The
boat is a long
keel heavy
displacement sloop. She has good
safety gear and recent mechanical services. Rig 2 years old. A sound and solid yacht. Just need fresh
food, top the
tanks and she’s ready to go. 3 crew ready with some experience.
We need another skipper to take over our 34' yacht for research/aid
work in
Vanuatu for the season then return the
boat to
New Zealand. This is a beautiful yacht to sail, a
Sweden 34. The
current skipper has some issues at home that he needs to attend to so is having to get off the boat.
WE ARE A CHARITY, which means
money is tight. We are negotiable but generally cannot pay a wage but do cover you
food and may be able to help with travel or a small stipend according to circumstances. If you are in a position to be self
funding that is really appreciated as every dollar we spend on a skipper is a dollar less for our valuable work.
