Just curious, after leaving the Red Sea, before you get to Seychelles, isn't that Gulf of Aden & Somalia's "territorial waters"? What news has there been of any "unfriendly (aka pirate) activity" in recent months? I'd feel queasy - unless there has been enough friendly patrols to suppress what made that not so safe in the past.
I'm not a candidate, as I'd not have that long a stretch of time available, I'm just curious to ask. And I'm not meaning to rain on any parade, but I thought this had been a "no go zone" for a while. For me, I'm more interested in sailing in the Med, the North side at that, esp the Greece Islands. So well wishes for your adventure, hopefully, my concern will turn out to be unfounded.

Yes, it is pirates area. One month ago, Russian sailboat Hanse 450 was attacked by pirates near Bab-El-Mandeb in coordinates 13°42'7.18"N 42°42'13.82"E.

Please don't overwhelm potential crew members with information ...

* What kind of boat? How is she outfitted?
* How many crew in total?
* Sharing what costs (esp in this case - it could include armed guards)
* For a trip like this: what safety precautions will be in place?
* When will this trip take place?
* Skippers & crew already signed on experience and experience wanted in crew?
* etc.
