Just a note...You may want to have one person who is better at
cooking and
provisioning or brings local knowledge about your destinations (check in procedures, local
customs, etc.) or
medical knowledge, etc. I found that aspect was a lot more important to me than having a crew that knew how to sail. With 2 crew you may get one that knows how to sail and one that doesn't
I already know how to sail, and as
skipper, I determine the sail plan and changes. Wake me up at any time and I'm happy to get the
boat rigged right, explain something or listen to their concerns. I choose crew for what they knew, and I didn't, and most often they run the
boat except the sailing. Worked really well for me and them. None of my crew could sail, but in very short time, could pick me up if I fell
overboard. If you are going to have crew on board think about what they can ADD to the
cruise. JMO
