Need Help with Annapolis to National Harbor Delivery

I'm about to purchase a Beneteau 381 in Annapolis and will slip it at the National Harbor. So, I'm looking for someone to take her from Annapolis to the National Harbor, and someone to go over the operational systems with me.

It looks like the first week of March is the time frame.

Thanks!
Eric

I will be in Virginia early spring re-working the systems on a boat that I delivered to the Chesapeake from Florida last summer. I am very familiar with the Bay and Potomac, as I used to build trimarans in Annapolis and restored a few boats at Tommy Long's yard on the Anacostia River in D.C. Feel free to contact me at my website for qualifications, references, etc... Scott wwwdotseaworthysolutionsdotnet References can also be found through old threads on this forum.

Eric, Dont buy any boat without a survey. Most surveyors will "go over the boats systems" with you....and lastly, consider keeping the boat on the Bay...I have had sailboats on the Potomac and 90% of the time was spent motoring, not sailing.

I've done that delivery before with a 34' beneteau called "bandit". The potomac is a real pain. Twisted the shaft off motoring at Pt Lookout (bad alignment job) and had to finish the trip under sail. Tacked all the way up the Potomac in less than 10 knot winds! Then we had to sail into the marina at Woodbridge, even backed into the slip using the jib. Got 'er done, but after that I'd recommend keeping the boat on the bay.

Agree with ncarter, you'll be motoring most of the time.

Good evening Eric - I have a USCG 50T masters and am an assistant coach at the USNA for offshore sailing. I own a GS 52 that I keep in the South River after sailing it last year from Mallorca to Annapolis, but live in Fairfax. Give a call @703-280-1383 if you have not otherwise solved the problem of moving your boat to DC. Regards, Bruce B
