Mumbai looks like it would take sorting out for anchorage (permits and lotsof paperwork) how about
Kochi International Marina.

It indicates interest... I have traversed those waters many years ago but in a Destroyer... doing it under sail has long been an ambition...
Experience 'sailing' them is limited to out of Karachi on dhows a coupla times coastal... and pottering round by Simonstown in the '60's...
But lotsa seatime in the N.Atlantic, Med and Caribbean... small boats upto 45ft...
When/time of year are you wanting this done...

safe route from cape town would be east using the westerlies till about 90e then north can do the trip in december.aprox 10000 dollars incflights etc.

I could be interested, have done 150k miles, including Langkawi - Sri Lanka - Mumbai - Muscat - Abu Dhabi a couple of years back. 10k plus expenses sounds not unreasonable (NZ$ for me, and fares to / from Auckland, don't know how that affects the equation) , If you want to discuss further email me editor@crew.org.nz

Before quoting, we need to know the start point and the finish point. For example, Cape Town to Kochi is 4500 miles (give or take) and Mumbai is only another 400 miles on, at 4900 (again, give or take). these are pretty much "straight shot" mileages and its possible/likely that a replenishment stop might be needed in, say, Seychelles. If Mumbai is the preferred destination, I have contacts there who "smooth the path" with regard to Indian Bureaucracy~!

Anyway - I'll PM you a quote.

I am starting a Seychelles to Australia delivery next seek so that's gonna take up a couple of months then I have a couple of Caribbean to the States runs in early Hurricane Season. I think the best season for this trip would be during the SE Monsoon - but I'll have to look a little bit deeper at the meteo conditions before confirming that.

Meanwhile - Ah, Boatman - do you remember the Beira Bucket? Happy days (well, not actually - a flaming waste of time when all you really wanted to do was get home! - but Nairobi was nice....)

D'ye know - I remember sailing across the Dead Sea before it was even put on the Sick List, as I recall, it only had a "slight headache" at the time.... Tony
