Miami to Great Lakes - START IN MAY

Looking for an energetic explorer to join me for all or part of a trip up East Coast of the USA to the St Lawrence Seaway, Montreal Canada and then through the great lakes to Wisconsin. We will stop at interesting places along the way while making steady headway as weather and events best suit sailing.

My and your friends (max 4 on boat) are welcome to join us for short periods along the way - while 2 sailors can easily handle this boat. It is fast, sea worthy and fun to sail.

No contribution required or a shared contribution depending on situation of applicant. Sailors of all ages and levels of experience are welcome to request more information. I will reply to all applicants. Please state your objectives.*

The boat is a new Dragonfly 35 Ultimate: Dragonfly Trimarans by Quorning Boats of Denmark | DRAGONFLY 35 Presentation

Where in Wisconsin is your final destination, if you dont mind me asking? And do you have an estimate of when you'd like to be there? I only ask since I'm from Duluth, MN, across the river from Superior, WI, and I need to be there back from the Caribbean on July 23rd.

Re: Miami to Great Lakes - START IN MAY

I would be very interested in crewing for you for up to two weeks, sometime from May 1 - July 30, or between Aug 11-31. Depending on when you most need another crew, I could be flexible about which two weeks.

My future retire plans -- probably about 6 years from now -- include long distance coastal cruising and the "Great Loop." This would greatly enhance my experience and planning for distance cruising. I'm been very interested in trimarans for some time, and would love to experience cruising in one. That would help me decide whether my S.O. could handle or even prefer a tri over a mono when the time comes.

I'm 60, non-smoker, barely a light drinker, former college-professor, and leader of a non-profit. I'm a people-person - easy to get along with, and with a good sense of humor, and enjoy both engaging conversation and silence. I pull my weight, do my chores, stand watch, and do as the skipper asks. I'm a good cook.

I've sailed mostly on the Chesapeake (where I've owned a Hunter 25, Pearson 26, and C&C 27). I earned ASA sailing certifications: 101, 102, 103 through the San Juan Sailing School, Bellingham WA.

I hope to hear from you.
Richard

When you are on Saint Lawrence River and short handed I can assist. I power boat these days but have prior sailing experience. In any case, I will be on the north side of Howe Island (between Gananoque and Kingston on the Canadian side) most of the time April to October ... so stop by! More details in the email ...
