Crew Wanted: Lautoka (Fiji) to Bay of Islands (New Zealand)

Hi

I have a 36' Gozzard (42' overall) mono-hull cutter rigged yacht heading for New Zealand on or around 27th October arriving 5th November 2013 (weather permitting).

I plan to stop at Minerva Reef along the way to break the journey and enjoy what that location has to offer. However this could change depending on the weather.

We will log somewhere between 1,000Nms to 1,150Nms depending on the circumstances.

I have just returned from a successful Atlantic and South Pacific crossing to Australia and then Tasman Sea crossing to New Zealand in November 2012 and a delivery to Fiji (TBC Aug 2013- see other post) on the boat over a period of 3 years.

If you are interested and can function in a team environment with sailing and galley skills, you are most welcome. ALL JOBS WILL BE SHARED EQUALLY.

I am interested in joining you. I have some experience in running charter vessels in the Coral Sea and Barrier reef some time ago, but intend to do more blue water passages in 2014 and want to get some logged sea time. Good general hand, watch keeping and galley, but mostly i'm OK to get along with. Hi, my name*is Shaked Cohen from Israel, 24 y/o.
I've started sailing 2003 at a nautical high school in Israel. Started with theory, exams and practical from Dinghies to 61 foot Iron Ketch sailing vessel. Received skipper certificate to handle any boat up to 24 meters (84 feet) motor and sailing vessels without engine size limitation at 2007. Sailed 9000 nautical miles on sailing vessels both coastal and offshore all in Europe (Med) as a crew and as a captain (deliveries and cruises).
Worked as sailing instructor for special needs children and adults in Tel-aviv, Israel 2007/2008
I was a captain on a 6 persons racing boat for 4 years (2004-2008).
Also certified as a PADI dive master, rescue diver and CPR First Aid certificate issued by Emergency First Response.

At June 2012 i started my circumnavigation from Israel, all over Europe, central America, galapagos is, pacific ocean, French polynesia and now in Fiji.

All the yachts I've sailed with highly recommended on me, i can send you recommendations if you'd like.

If you now in Laotuka, i can step by one day and have a talk.

Crew look after their own costs and share the food / drinks, etc. You will also have to consider departure costs and arrival costs in Fiji and New Zealand. The boat may stop at the Bay of Islands (North New Zealand) on the return from Fiji, therefore your costs to Auckland will also need to be considered. Bus cost is about NZD$40.

We successfully completed another ocean crossing from New Zealand to Lautoka (Fiji) in 8 days with southerly based winds all the way. Now its time to plan the return trip.
Estimated departure date from Vuda Point Marina (Fiji) will be 6 November 2013.
