Hi there
Looking for crew for a 2013
Jeanneau 57 currently in Lanzarote and waiting here till November to
head towards Trinidad. This will be my 12th transatlantic, though my first on this
boat. I'mm 55 going on 23, retired brit, sailing variously in
Med and carib.
I'm owner/skipper, and the way this has worked nicely in the past is for crew to get themselves to and from the
boat at their expense, and we share
food costs, likely about 100-150 dollars a week for the (surely max) three week gig.
Two is tight and a bit exhausting altho serene .... but three is ok and a
cabin each. We'll likely make kinda hand-held
food for the most part, and probably three hour watches. On the cat the boat steered itself but with a mono I anticipate a lot more handsteering cos it's more fun and the carbon wheels are very tactile :-)
No couples please cos the dynamic is too weird in a small crew, no hopelessly unfit older wannabees or never-been-on-a-boat romantic types, or scaredy types who have never sailed at night or
offshore or with a
spinnaker or at double digit speeds or all these. Anyway there's nothing to worry about - only 2miles from land throughout the trip - straight down :-)
Hope I haven't frightened away everyone tho :-) Should be good fun!
