Take a look at the Nevada Yacht Club which meets at the Lake Mead Marina. They post their activities at Meetup.com and the winter (there) is in the middle of their sailing and racing season. There are always people who are generous with their time. It's how I learned to sail....

Hi- I live in Nevada, but the C27 is a common boat at the Lake Mead Marina. You'll find lots of takers if you join Meetup.com. They have meetings at one of the local clubs and I'm sure you'll be able to coordinate your time with theirs.

Hi Bluebound,

I am currently cycling around the world for charity. I have completed 40,000 kms taking me through Europe, Asia and Australiasia. In 2007/08 I sailed across Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. I have my Day Skipper's licence. Unfortunately I have not sailed properly for about 3 years so a little rusty but would be very keen to join your crew. I am flexible with dates. I landed in Hawaii yesterday and will be heading to San Francisco next week to start cycling through USA towards Las vegas so can head in any direction including Lake mead to reach your boat for some sailing.
