Hobart to Sydney in late May 2015

I'm contemplating a late run up to Sydney leaving Hobart in May. Trip time will be determined by favourable weather windows.

Experienced skipper with well found, well equipped and comfortable Catalina 42 yacht.

Expressions of interest from experienced sailors appreciated!

Re: Hobart to Sydney in late May 2015

Hi Amnesia

I am a 50 year old Aussie male . I sail a 17 ft fractional rigged sloop .I am an aviator, so understand navigation, have worked night shift so can keep watch .I am looking to get sea miles under my belt as I wish to get a larger boat to sail the Pacific .
I am easy going and can get along with people . I have been in 5 meter seas and have so far not been sea sick . So I will see how that goes , some blue water . Samoa to Vanuatu with Del in Chiara Stella . than port villa to the bay of islands New Zealand with Phil and Craig on the Different Drummer .then Noumea ,new Caledonia to Brisbane Australia with Simmo on Levanter a 38 ft catamaran 3,400 nautical miles in total
I can be in tassy around 12th May . .
however I do need to be in Sydney before the end of May as I am going sailing in the Cook islands to Samoa if this sounds good for you E Mail me
at jamesgurr@hotmail.com

Cheers

jimmy

How many crew members are you looking for?

I'm most comfortable with one, I normally sail the boat alone but overnighers and longer it's safer and more comfortable to have someone else aboard for watch roster.

Alan, Ann chiming in,

Do be really choosy about your weather windows leaving in winter; some of those storms are fierce!

Good luck with the *jaunt*.

Ann

Hello, am a Launceston sailor and would be happy make the trip to Sydney
Would propose I make a quick visit down to Hobart first to have a chat
Am flexible with dates in May and totally agree with letting the weather dictate departure
