Crew Wanted: From the San Juans to Port Orchard Washington

I'm looking at a smaller boat up in the San Juan Islands Sunday. I'm thinking the deal will go thru. Fingers crossed. I'll need to get it down to a slip at Port Orchard after Thanksgiving. I'm going to wait until the conditions are good and clear so the schedule is flexible. It's about 100 miles and it might require an overnight but there is a heater in the boat. I'm hoping to get free local crew who will do it for the experience but if I have to pay a captain then I will. I'll cover all boat expenses: fuel, food and whatever. I will be on board. PM me.
After that I'll be looking for some sailing buddies to help me take her out for day sailing on the nice days.

Crabby, I sailed my new to me boat that route with one other. Two others would be a crowd, IMHO. If you are familiar with the route, solo is not hard.

More boat details needed for speed calcs. Where from also? Currents etc make a big difference. It's at least a two day trip staying in the daylight, if 100 miles in a small boat, probably 3. A small boat gets smaller with more than 2 people, keep that in mind.
Maybe Mackaye harbor the first day, across to Port Townsend or Hadlock day 2, on to Pt Orchard day 3.

Be very careful of the weather. You are choosing the very worse time of the year. Take it from one who experienced force 12 during that time off of Victoria. Don't take any chances.
Traditionally the week before Thanksgiving is bad.

I've done that trip many times and live in the Browns Point area so, depending on the dates could be of help if you need it.

Logged over 15K NM up the WA/BC coast.

Premature congrats! I may be buying one in two weeks in the same vicinity. Not a real fast one though, so I know we're not competing for the same thing.

The seller will allow me to keep the boat at his mooring for a month or 2 until I can get it down here. There's got to be a decent weather window in there somewhere. More boat info and location after tomorrow. Thanks everybody.

You probably know this already but daylight is now a small fraction of days now up here. It would have to be a very fast trip to do it in daylight. Port Hudson is a good place to break up the trip if needed. And Port Townsend is a good place to have dinner and beers. Hope you get the boat and have a happy and safe voyage. Weather has been nasty last few days. Very nasty.

Yup I'm right here in Gig Harbor. Tomorrow is a hole in the wet so that's why I'm looking at it then. Next Sunday thru Thanksgiving looks promising.
