Hey Gabriel,

My name is Colin Sternagel, 26 during the time under sail. I just finished my master 100 and sail endorsement. I need more time underway before I send in my application. I am from Seattle and the time of year has shut down sailing out of any local ports. I really want blue water experience and am a fun energetic guy to be around. I am a sailor, adventure videographer, white water river guide, nature lover, scuba diver and athletic jock at times. I also have my own business importing traditional Mongolian Yurts. Check out SunTime Yurts and my video website SunTime Films. Would love to bring my dive gear and video gear to get some beautiful footage of the boat water and trip. send me an email and I'll be happy to give you more info. cj.sternagel (at) g mail (.) com Look forward to hearing more from you.

Re: Florida to the Virgins in January

I'm older than 30 but I'm more fun than anyone that's 30 -- so they tell me. I'm a hard working, fit and athletic Registered Dietitian (master's in Sports Nutrition) and you'd guess I was 40 -- or less.

I have been sailing for 3-4 years and have my ASA 106 certification. I'm getting my first sextant for Christmas and am taking Celestial Navigation and Ocean Passage Making (ASA 107 and 108) soon. I want more sailing experience! I specifically want to learn more about navigating. I tend to read mostly about sail trim

Your trip sounds perfect for me. I am looking for a trip for me OR with my husband who is certified up to 104. (He's not as funny as I, but he's fun and fit and athletic and smart!)

I have not crewed before and I have only one concern. I would want to meet you in advance and I would only want to sail with responsible people that know when they DON'T know something! I think people that pretend to know everything are very dangerous on a sailboat. Or anywhere.

So that's me. I work very part-time, flexible hours and my husband is taking a year off so we are available and flexible if you want one of us or both. (I'm the better half when it comes to sailing.) I offer up us as a pair as you mentioned a 50' sailboat which I presume is large enough.

Re: Florida to the Virgins in January

Hi Gabriel,

I am a 30 year old with a 50-ton inland license. I will be down in Florida the beginning of January and would love a passage to the Virgin Islands. I have been sailing most of my life and in the last 15 years have done many deliveries up and down the east coast as well as two trans-Atlantic trips. The last being this past winter during which I did your reciprocal course working my way up the Caribbean island chain from Antigua through the USVI, PR, Bahamas and eventually Jacksonville, FL. In the summer months I live in Maine and Captain a 57 foot Schooner doing day-sails with 22 passengers. Let me know if you are still looking for crew and I would be happy to send you my CV and talk a little bit more about the trip. My email is vault888@hotmail.com

Thanks,

Matthew

Re: Florida to the Virgins in January

Hi gabrielu,

I am fun and super cool and looking to do some sailing this January. I have only about a year of experience, but I am a hard worker and fast learner. I would like to be considered if you have not already found someone! Please email me with any question. I am a student in New York, and have been sailing here with some great people. I have the month of January free and want nothing more to do than sail. If interested I can provide references, CV's and Resumes.
