DOJ goat was young but of legal age for a goat

Okay I'm looking for a dehydrated toothless female goat to Crew with me.
Just saying when you post I'm 20 and girl like to sail. That's different then I dropped out of college to crew and sail. Nothing wrong with either it just seems to start speculation and we all go off in different sometimes weird places. So our poor op who is certainly being entertained says female and were all speculating about what that means. I am one letter in the chromosome pool off from female entertaining annoying have experience being 20 to 35. Ohhhh I said experience.

She has good balance and is very strong; she could probably change sails and trim chute all day long in almost all conditions. We'd be honored and privileged to have her crew on our boat.

And, if pirates were to threaten to board, we wouldn't even need GUNS -- she could just put a shot through the side and bottom of the pirates' boat. Who needs guns if your crew can throw cannonballs!

Don't forget she needs to bring along a new outboard.

Come on now - you are seriously arguing that criticizing someone in a forum is justified as means to help find crew who might disappear on a cruise?

There are good ways for crew to take steps to ensure their safety and have someone initiate a search for them if they go missing, but publicly criticizing someone's crew requirements is not that.

If you are concerned about crew safety, then post a good sticky on steps potential crew should take, but don't justify criticizing someone's choice of crew as a means to document who's crewing with him where they will be, when they should be back or a means as finding a missing person - It does no such thing. A criticism is just that - Your vocalization that you don't approve of someone else's choice. Don't try to cloak it as something else.

Re: Fit 20-35 year old Female Sailor wanted

Actually, I think templates or checklists for both crew-wanted and crew-want-boat would be useful.

Crew wanted:
From
To (itinerary/intermediary stops and durations)
Date(s) (flexible?)
Boat (type, size)

Crew sailing skills and experience required/desirable
Other crew characteristics required/desirable, work and behavior expectations
(gender, age, health, passport/visas, training/credentials, languages, cooking, nonsmoking, nondrug, references needed, undesirable behaviors not wanted, etc.)

Trip expenses -- transportation to/from, expenses/pay underway, expenses/pay on shore and in ports

Skipper
Description, sailing experience, credentials, any special health or other circumstances
References available from former crew or others who have sailed with skipper?
Available to meet or take short test sails? Boat available for inspection?

More about the boat
More description, age, recent maintenance performed, condition/recent servicing of major equipment (engine, sails, rig, steering, communications)
Safety equipment, (has vessel passed any form of inspection or to what extent is vessel equipped to a standard beyond national requirements?)
Skipper's philosophy for go/no-go weather decisions and routing
Other equipment, state of maintenance, comforts, life on the boat (lifestyle preferences about marine head, music, alcohol, watchkeeping, etc.)
Recent photos available?

Crew available
Current location
Date
Able and willing to travel how far to meet a boat?
Where interested in sailing?
Looking for a particular type of boat, length of voyage, personality of captain, etc.?

Age, health, special health/diet needs, vision/night vision, smoking/non, drug/non, swimming
Health considerations -- able to hoist and trim heavy sails, agility on foredeck and in and out of dinghy, able to reach mainsail, etc.

Experience and skills
sailing skills, credentials, classes, coastal/inland, offshore, passport/visa status, other skills (cooking, maintenance, languages, first aid/medical, etc.)

Expectations for expenses or pay

Expectations for lifestyle on boat

References? Available to meet? Available for short/test sails?

Re: Fit 20-35 year old Female Sailor wanted

Phew! How bad to see I do not fulfil any requirement; I'm 38, bad cook, always dressed (well, except when I get a shower), with a short bank account (maybe if I would be nudist, I would be wealthier), hedonist in food and drinking... I see it is going to be difficult to find a captain... Oh, my captainnnn!!!

I re-read my post, and I don't see any criticism at all in my post.

Well, I never said you specifically did. I was talking about your comments as they related to the overall critical nature of this thread towards the OP.

However, since you bring it up: I think your comment: "It suggests that his motives for taking a crew are suspicious." is indeed offering unsolicited criticism of his post, that is clearly aimed at scaring crew off, and not aimed to help him and crew connect which is the purpose of the forum.

I'll ad my intention was never to go into this in this much depth, but as these things can go it's easy to get sucked into issues. My only intent was to bring up the issue for consideration that many of the comments brought up 1) are unsolicited criticisms and 2) to some degree limit the effectiveness in people's ability to find crew in a sub-forum designed to unite boats and crew.

Well I'm off to the BVI's on Sunday night. I decided not to take a chance with taking any Internet girl... There are a lot of wacky chicks out there. The last thing I need or want is to be stuck on a boat with some girl off the Internet for five long days. That has the potential for ruining my vacation. I've decided to meet people down in the BVI's that have their own money. I can see how they sail and invite them again if they know what they are doing. Last but not least i will see what they look like and be able to decide how "fit" they are. I'll keep you guys posted.

Re: Fit 20-35 year old Female Sailor wanted

Sorry about all the folks here having fun with your request. I just returned from spending the winter in the Virgin Islands. Most of the time singlehanded. Most gals you'll find there are already on charter. That being said most any night at willieT's at the bight on Norman island you can find lots of fun folks with some of the boats fully crewed by ladies or at least a floater or two. Observe the crowd at Pirates in the afternoon and you'll have a good idea what your chances at Willie T's will be latter. You'll see what I mean! Good luck, be safe and don't anchor if you don't know how.
Cruz Bay at St.John also has the atmosphere you are looking for. Many groups of women staying at the various resorts. Not a big place. Everyone ends up at the beach bars sooner or later. Folks are real friendly.Lots of people looking to go snorkelling. Who's to say they might not want to go with you? Not easy to anchor in Cruz bay so pick up a mooring at Caneel and dingy around the corner. If you don't have the proper charts for St John do not leave the BVI. Check in at Cruz bay and back into the BVI on Jost Van Dyke. Only a 5-6 mile sail and not difficult, but single handed in unfamiliar territory might not be the way to go.

Re: Fit 20-35 year old Female Sailor wanted

As heard from a sailors perspective:

"I have a Ford Crown Victoria rent a car and hotel room for 10 days in Las Vegas. The first five of those I am boffing an old girlfriend that lost her job. After that I'm solo and my noodle is doing nothing. The dates that will be available are 7/21-7/26 . DON"T SHOW UP BEFORE THE 21st !!! The car and hotel room is paid for. If you don't care if I am an incredibly homely 52 y/o obese smoker with a penchant for young girls, and you are just a little ready-to-go rabbit, then, If you are interested"

Sorry, but it's just cute. There are plenty of good looking Captains that own nice 50' catamarans or monohulls looking for women to have a good time on an ongoing basis. The idea that some relatively young woman that, you want to have a good time with, is going to jump at the opportunity to meet you in the islands for 5 days ... is just cute. It would seem that you would be in your early 20's ... but I suspect that you are just waaaay naive for your advanced age.

Dude .. if you haven't been out, the ratio is about 20:1 ... maybe worse;~). I have met two single handed female sailors cruising, and about 100 guys solo.

If you want serious action, you'd better look like Pierce Brosnan, have a deep wallet, and post a photo. Otherwise go the the DR or Cuba and buy a girl for the 5 days on the cheap ;~0.
