Female Crew Available Today!

Stop your search right here!
Thank you for reading this short ad

My name is Joy, I am that experienced, confident female crew that you are looking for!
I am qualified to Day Skipper level with ICC and short range VHF/DSC certificates.
Having sailed Atlantic and coastal, logging over 4000 miles, 155 days on board and 144 night hours this summer, I am now looking to crew on a yacht preferably heading for the Caribbean.
I am available immediate and I look forward to hearing from you.
Joy

Joy
I have a 45' Gulfstar that is now in Bocas del Torro Panama. I will be heading to the SanBlas islands in Dec. Hope to be there for the winter.
Have been sailing alone for the past year but would like someone to share the sailing with this year. Everything is better when it is shared. There is alot of shallow water in the area and haveing someone to help keep an eye out front would be great.
Send me a message if you are interested.
Thanks

Re: Female crew available today!

Hi, thank you for your kind offer, however I am looking to sail accross the Atlantic rather than fly over it. What you plan to do sounds lovely though. So if you are still looking for crew when I get there it would be great to speak with you.
Kind regards Joy

Re: Female crew available today!

I had been looking for crew but wanted them committed by sometime in the summer to get some time in my boat and see if the crew was suitable for the journey to the Carib. As no one but those who wanted to be paid answered I gave up. I would never take a walk on crew no matter how much experience they had. I've been on deliveries where the captain took some non sailors aboard and all they did essentially is get in the way and consume resources. Then I realized that when you sail offshore you need crew who contribute and get it and you get on with them.

I'm going to try to do this next year and perhaps start early. But it seems as if people wait till summer fun us over and look for a boat to hop on. I saw lots of this when I cruised in the Caribbean... boat hitch hikers. Not for offshore on my boat.

What a fun game! She tells you where she wants to sail to, and you get to guess where she is willing to sail from!

Re: Female crew available today!

I have a Challenger 56 ketch presently in the FL keys where I'm making some repairs & will do the bottom. I expect to leave here around Feb 1, route not yet established but thinking of arriving Roatan by June 1. Certainly would like to discuss options.
Regards, bill

She says she prefers to sail across the Atlantic so I presume she's this side of the pond now...
