Well, maybe you should consider selling here and buying there. If for some reason you want to stick to your boat, the delivery maybe could be done, depending on your schedule. Remember, that passages depend on seasons.

I have delivery experience and a qualified crew at hand. My qualifications: RYA Yachtmaster, RAY Radar instructor, sailing instructor, LRC, owner of two boats.

Please pm me, if you are interested.

I would sell it here and buy something else there. A lot of stuff can and will get worn out on that trip.
Ah, don't get this quote. Isn't that just what I suggested?

Re: Delivery Capt Needed

I would seriously consider shooting the gulf of Aden, I understand the Russian Navy is running regular convoys thru there, Im unsure about Singapore I would probably eat the miles and head south then head to the Philippines, Lo Brust is still running convoys as well, I would quote 20k total cost for around the horn, and about 10k via Aden Plus airfare

Re: Delivery Capt Needed

If you want to move that boat I'd really look at deck cargo.

Google for ship's agents and chandlers around the Med and you will find someone that can connect you to a shipping line that will take your boat.

Oh - you get what you pay for with delivery skippers. I don't think a delivery on her bottom makes sense. I wouldn't even work up a bid because I don't think it's in your interest.

Re: Delivery Capt Needed

Save yourself the heart ache and sell it in the med and buy another in Malaysia. It's going to cost you tens of thousands by sea. It's literally months of sea time, all of which is going to cost you, the insurance risk will be difficult if not impossible to cover and you beloved yacht could get left anywhere on route when the engine fails, rigging etc or the skipper realises what he has taken on. Financially it really is a non starter.

Re: Delivery Capt Needed

I'm just posting to get pinged on traffic on this thread. Am taking a Westsail 32 from Galveston to Charlottetown, PEI in mid-2013 and will want to sail under a delivery captain.

Bloodhound, that sounds like a nice little trip. Ya shouldn't have any issues finding a local captain to crew with ya.

Re: Delivery Capt Needed

With Trips around the horn in any boat the liability for damaga is huge. A Bavaria can make it, I'm sure but not with less cost then just loading it on a freighter. Not too mention you might find a trip like that hard to ensure when you get a delivery capt. around the horn.
