Cuba! South coast sail/dive trip mid-Sept

Hey all,

I'll be chartering along the south coast of Cuba during mid-September - probably Sept 10-20 - for a fun sailing/diving trip exploring the island before all the American tourists flood in. We'll have a Catana 47 cat and are hoping to find a few more fun personalities to join our group for an epic trip.

This will be cost-sharing, and include all your food, booze, water toys, fishing gear, dock/mooring fees, national park fees, fuel, etc etc etc.... You don't need to have a ton of sailing experience, in fact, an open mind, fun spirit, and willingness to adventure are more important anyway. Age isn't important at all, and we already have a wide-range!

I'm a young skipper/sailing instructor living in the Caribbean teaching, delivering, and chartering for the last 2.5 years, with over 30,000nm of offshore experience. We'll have at least two (probably three) PADI Dive Instructors aboard, and hopefully a compressor and tons of tanks/gear, so you can get certified during the trip too, or just try diving!

The cost is shaping up to be around $1600 for the 10 days, and I just thought I'd give a shout here to see if any individuals, couples, or families want to come explore Cuba with us! I can provide a more detailed intended itinerary, but truthfully we're winging it. We'll see what places we like and spend more time there than the places we don't like. Simple. There will be at least one overnight passage, and a lot of gunkholing.

Feel free to email me at vincent.mattiola@gmail.com for more details.

Let's go see Cuba before tourism takes over!

-Vinny

PS - You don't need to know any Spanish. I barely do.

Re: Cuba! South coast sail/dive trip mid-Sept

Was there in the late winter of this year. You are going to love it!! But I thought the Cayo Largo closes for the summer.

And the south coast of Cuba is a popular spot for hurricanes. Going in mid-September almost guarantees a hit.
