Your trip sounds amazing as we just finished sailing around the caribbean and finished in panama. We actually live in the tampa area so your end stop is perfect the only difficult part is we could be away from home for an entire 3 months as we do have a business to attend to. We would be willing to join you for the last month of your voyage, maybe meeting you in panama going through the canal then back to tampa. We are couple me 50 and she 35 both are fit and capable of taking night duties and any other help needed. We are interested in joining you on your journey but we could only join for the last month maybe from panama to tampa as tampa is our home area and being away from home greater then a month with a business is difficult. As most recently we crewed from st lucia to panama in march, our goal is to gain open passage sailing experience as we search for a boat of our own. Please remember that Hurricane season on the Western side of the Northren Hemisphere ie. California to Panama is from the 1st of June until the 31st of October. Even when the storms are well offshore or traveling to the west, swells generated can sometimes be larger than normal.

Not just the pacific. Also Atlantic... Atlantic Hurricane Season begins Friday, June 1, 2012, and ends Friday, November 30, 2012. So this whole planned trip is during hurricane season....
