Re: Crew Wanted

Hi Alan, as you cruise up the cost, consider calling into lake macquarie. We have a great group of catalina owners on the lake. I am sure we could show you how good the lake is.

Re: Crew Wanted

Thanks for your reply. I must say I haven't considered the lake....my draft is 2.03m or 6'8", how would I go to get in?

Best regards,

Re: Crew Wanted

Great. Keep me posted and we can try to organise a raft up somewhere (or a meal at one of the many clubs on the waterfront ). Cheers

Re: Crew Wanted

Careful, Ozrocker, for Yank Catalina owners are a different lot than the downunder ones. In fact, Alan is a very suspicious character...

(I don't do smilies cause I don't understand the language, but be aware that Alan is a friend and that was a joke).

Re: Crew Wanted

Steady on Jim....I'm a Pom in Australia since 1978! How you doin', heard from Bruce you were tangled in the Gordon River? I was most privileged to visit Port Davey twice this season. November was special....the only yacht there! Feb/March, with crew.....rain....lots! Currently in Sydney and the butter is melting!

Re: Crew Wanted

Alan... a bloody Pom?? You disguise it well, mate! I never knew! What's a Pom doing with a Catalina, anyhow?

And yeah, we lost our bower anchor to a snag on the Gordon, along with a bunch of chain. Not my best day cruising...

New one took a fortnight to arrive, and now they are f/c 5-8 mtr swell along the west coast. makes it hard to get through Hell's Gate. We are getting pretty familiar with the local scene in Strahan...

Good luck with finding some crew. Perhaps we will get to the Sydney area before you depart and I will stand you a drink as apology for calling you a Yank.

Re: Crew Wanted

Hi There,

Would you be interested in a family of four?
My wife and I with our to boys age 9 - 11 are keen for a learning adventure. we are looking to go abroad but would like to test the waters before going on a large passage.
We are currently in Coffs Harbour Region closer to Urunga.
What are your plans?

Cheers
Andy
