Crew Available: Couple Seeking to Crew November 2012 and beyond

Hi! We are a Baltimore and Annapolis (Maryland, USA) based couple looking to start crewing in November 2012. Ideally we would jump on as crew for the Caribbean 1500 with the option to continue on either thru the Caribbean to Panama and potentially Panama, Galapagos, South Pacific and ultimately Australia or New Zealand. If you just need crew for the Caribbean 1500 that's fine as well. Also happy to join a southbound boat that is heading south separately from the Caribbean 1500.

About me - Healthy, fit, non-smoking 40 year old male with around 20,000 off-shore and ocean miles including three prior trips from the Chesapeake to the BVI's (not with the Caribbean 1500 but around November 1) - one trip was via Bermuda. Another big passage in 2011 from Sri Lanka to Egypt across the Indian Ocean. Boats have varied from a Hallberg Rassey 46, a Morgan, Benteau 40.7, a Tayana 48 and a CatalinaMorgan 440. Many evenings and days sailing and racing on the Chesapeake Bay. Not prone to sea sickness. Self-employed so schedule is open/flexible. Able to keep watch and am a decent cook on and off a boat. Talented handyman when needed with knowledge of plumbing, electric and wood working.

About her - Healthy, fit non-smoking 39 year old female with limited sailing experience. This summer actively racing on a J-24 out of Annapolis and looking to gain some coastal/off-shore experience. She has taken a semester of California Safe Boating Course at San Diego State and another week long course thru US Sailing small boat certification series while living in Hawaii and then raced in Pearl Harbor on a Laser.

We are flexible with our schedules and plans and would be happy to meet prior to the Caribbean 1500 or prior to November. We are actively looking to buy our own bluewater sailboat and sail around the world.

Please contact us for any crew opportunities both for the Caribbean 1500 as well as passage making or island hopping in the Caribbean, to Central America and down to Australia or New Zealand. Passports are current and we area ready to go!

Would you consider leaving to the Caribean from the Pacific Northwest (Seattle/Port Townsend) on a 35' Wauquiez Pretorien? On or about Sept. 10th of this year.

How about a trip from the Bay Area down to Nicaragua in late October, early November? If you are interested this could also be a job running crewed charters out of the Nicaragua on the Pacific coast. PM me if interested.

Oh, the boat is year 2000 44 foot steel Bruce Roberts Offshore center cockpit cutter.

Jan- Unfortunately September is too early to break away from here as projects are still near completion but not complete. Sounds like a great trip! Maybe we'll see you down in the Caribbean!

Mike- I will send you a PM and we can discuss logistics. Hadn't thought about Nicaragua but am pretty open to exploring new areas!
