Coffs Harbour to Queensland

On my way from Tasmania to Queensland...be in Coffs approx 8 days. If you wish to experience, learn & enjoy a comfortable, fast, safe cruising yacht on this coastal passage do get intouch. Owner covers all expenses onboard except alcoholic beverages. Crew responsible for travel to and from vessel.

Re: Coffs Harbour to Queensland

Ah, Coffs Harbour.

Nice pub. Chandler is nice guy. Local eatery lovely people.

Nice water, most unfriendly marina on the coast, worst holding ground in the outside harbour and the most anal fishing coop on the coast.

Buy your diesel further north.

No slipway now so nearest is Yamba.

Hopefully the last of the NE winds. Catch the Sw changes to get outta there.

But can fly in from Sydney ok but not from Brisbane now.

Good luck with the cruise.

Re: Coffs Harbour to Queensland

Thanks for the info....quite right not a nice Marina, I remember grounding on entry! I have anchored out in the bay, bit swell effected but reasonable. No intention of spending time there really. Long walk to the shops too if I remember right!

Cheers,

Alan

Re: Coffs Harbour to Queensland

Hi

I'm very interested too. I have limited sailing experience and would love to learn more.

I'm young, fit, healthy, friendly and have a huge passion for travel. I have many years experience in construction and automotive which could be handy.

Happy to cook and clean.

I live in a little beach town about 30 minutes south of coffs and am more than willing to make my way there and my way back from qld.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello Alan,
I'm based in Coffs and sold my yacht just last year. I know the coast pretty well between Sydney and Cairns. I have a few weeks spare if you are looking for immediate crew. I can be reached at dennis at denniscampbell dot com dot au.

Re: Coffs Harbour to Queensland

Hey,
Are you still looking for crew? If so I can be in Coffs Harbour ASAP. I live in Melbourne, am 26, volunteer as a CoastGuard, work on a passenger ferry as a deck hand and have recently started casual racing (J24) once a week.
I've sailed before, am a beginner but I'm comfortable with nightwatch, sharing chores etc. The longest passage was a month; Cairns to Darwin. I'm currently gaining seatime for my Coxswain.
If you'd like to discuss things further my number is 0416571652 and email emily.v.nielsen@gmail.com
Hope to hear from you soon,
Emily

Re: Coffs Harbour to Queensland

Friendly reminder to all the folks posting their contact info for the world to see:

It is never a good idea to post email addresses and/or phone numbers on a public forum!

More info in this sticky - short version:

A final word or two of advice: DO NOT post your email address without editing it to something like "fred AT yahoo DOT com". In it's original format it can be harvested by unscrupulous operators and sold to spammers. Also, DO NOT post your phone number for the world to see. Use our Private Messaging (PM) feature to communicate with other members.
So, to clarify the issue:

It is stupid for you to post your email address in public!
Please note: posting your phone number as "1 two 3" does NOT stop anyone from reading it.

Yes, a pm is a better venue for personal details.
