Bahamas - New Zealand

Myself, my partner and a friend are heading out to buy a sail boat in the Bahamas in the begining of March 2011. We are looking at sailing it back to Sarasota/Tampa and provision it and learn the boat for a couple of months before heading out to sail back home to New Zealand.

We are after a 4th person to join us on this trip. Not looking for paid crew as we would prefer to put the money into equipment. We are open to discusion for some costs.

Below is an idea of our route

Freeport, Bahamas
Tampa or Sarasota, Fl
Cancun, Mexico
Isla de Providencia, Colombia
Panama

Galapagos Islands
Hiva Oa, Marquesas
Fatu Hiva, Marquesas
Papeete, French Polynesia
Moorea, French Polynesia
Bora Bora, French Polynesia
Aitutaki, Cook Islands

Alofi, Niue
Nuku'alofa, Tonga

Auckland, New Zealand
Lyttelton, New Zealand

Looking forward to hearing from people

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, TeMPuS.

Good luck in finding suitable crew, and on the voyage!

Hello,

I am currently in the Sarasota area and your schedule would fit mine perfectly. Here is a link to my resume: http://data.crewfinders.com/photos/r...5/KEDDY_CV.pdf

I will have my captains license by then, 25 ton Master, and have lots of blue water experience on my own boat up and down the east coast of the US. I'd love to get onto an ocean crossing and this sounds like the timing and location would be perfect.

A few questions: what is your expected pace and arrival time in New Zealand? What is the make and model of your vessel? What is the experience level of yourself and the other crew members?

Please reply to my email, smkeddy at gmail dot com.

Thanks!

Scott

I would enjoy this adventure....

Good Morning Everyone, I would love to join you on your journey. I have open water experience and my last trip was on a 50 footer from Hawaii to Vancouver BC 21 days of joy. I'm planning a trip to Costa Rica and I hope we can coordinate our schedules as I will be attending the Marley concert in Miami on the 12th and 13th of March. You are welcome to join me as we will have VIP backstage passes to the concerts. Call that the beginning of a great voyage. As for me, I'm easy going, love all kinds of music, I'm in ship shape and love to have fun when the opportunity presents itself. I hope we can work things out. PS: I have good friends on Treasure Island, St. Pete and Venice if that helps. John

Hello. Sarasota is a great place to practice. I have an Irwin 41, I think it is a great sailboat to venture to the New Zealand. I hope to do it one day myself. I'm heading to the Bahamas to look at boat slips. Are you in the Bahamas now?

What kind of sailboat would land you in New Zealand, safely?

Tempus, I may be in Sarasota in March, how much time are you planning to hit New Zealand? You can reach me 941 227 3084.

My wife and I are crewing from Florida to Abaco in early March. We planned to fly back, but would prefer to sail back. Any chance that you would consider having two additional crew help you sail from Bahamas to Sarasota, if the timing works? If yes, we will send our CV.

Thanks,
Bill

Part of the team

Aloha!
I currently live in Maui and work on a snorkel boat, doing several small charters a day. I am a writer and photographer and would love to be the fourth person on your boat to help as crew, as well as document this adventure. I do only have minor experience on boats but am an extremely hard worker and pick up on new things very quickly. If you are looking for extra hands, as well as a documentarian I am your girl.

Happy sailing

Re: Bahamas - New Zealand

Hi there,

What kind of boat did you end up buying?
Wondering if you are still looking for a 4th crew member!
I would love to join your team.
I live in the Netherlands, Europe, but can fly out to where you guys are or from where you'd like help.

I have sailed open water before, I am 29, independent and funloving, know my way around a boat and sailing life (though not a captain, I do have experience with sailing, night watches and so on).

Would love to hear from you, either yes or no.
If you could still use a crew member, please send me an email or pm with more information about yourselves and your plans

Kind regards,
Janine
