Anyone heading to
New Zealand from
Australia this summer?
I'd love to join you - and I think I can offer a little help.
Back in early November I crewed on a
catamaran from Bali to Dampier,
Australia. We spent ten days at sea (would have been much less but the
wind shifted to southerly and we had to tack) which I absolutely loved.
I know I can keep watch, help with reefing and tacking. I am reasonable clued up about
safety on board and care of the
boat, and what it takes to keep things going smoothly interpersonally when you're confined in a small space for days with people you don't know so well.
I gained my sea-legs pretty quickly last time, and did a lot of
cooking and
cleaning.
I understand the costs involved with cruising, and would be willing to negotiate sharing some of these.
Most important of all I like to think I have a good attitude, and am honest and reliable.
I'm available to cross this often rough stretch of
water any time between now and mid-Feb, so if you are waiting in port for a good
weather forecast that's fine with me.
