American in Australia

I am inland now but will be available after the first of the year to go to India. I am retired and very flexible on departure dates and destinations. My only plan is to be in Odessa Ukraine the first week of May. I crewed on a 40 foot Lagoon Cat in 35 knots winds, 4 to 6 foot breakers and 20 foot swells. Fished offshore in Maine, NE USA, The Perfect Storm area, in a 21 foot i/o boat with my father and family. I grew up on a farm and can turn a wrench to just about anything, I am certified advance open water, wreck, and night diver. I have no bad habits and I am a good cook on land, Have not figured it out on the sea YET. I do not have a phone but next year is still awhile. Thank you for your time. Sincerely.
Donald

Re: American in Australia

Hi Donald, you sound like good sports )
let's see, if we can do something useful and enjoyable for each other.
I just bought a well equipped Simpson 45 cat in Brisbane, which needs to travel to my home in Bali sometime Feb. to April this year.
I am 66, going 55, ( so my wife says) but am not brave and experienced enough to do the tour alone. Wife chickened out (

Any thoughts which may bring us together?
Kind regards,
Ramon

Re: American in Australia

A lot has happened since I wrote that. Australia cost to mush to stay in so I am in Ukraine until May 28th. After that an ailine ticket cost $1000 from here to there and no idea how much from Bali. I know about fixed incomes, BUT if you buy my airline ticket to Brisbane I will come. I already have a mulitiple entry visa, I was trying to get on the Sea Sheperd crew, so that is my thoughts.

Re: American in Australia

Great, quick response, although from half the globe away.

Yes, I could send you $ 1000,- for a ticket to Beisbane. Actually, souns amazingly low cost to me. You're certain, you would get a seat inside ?

Anyway, all good so far, just that I' dlike to leave earlier than you can.
Like, but don't have to.
Although there is cyclone season, the boat is fast enough to,run within the minimum of 3 days pre warning into any safe harbour.

Forgive me to wait a few days if someone with the right schedule turns up.
if not, I will happily pick up your thread again.

Kind regards,
Ramon

Re: American in Australia

You have to do what you should for you first. I flew from Sydney to Kiev Ukraine for $995 Australian, American was about 1095. Lets stay in touch and I will do more research on flights. I would get the information so you know it is true. My Internet cafe time is out.

Re: American in Australia

Thank you Donald,

Well, just could not believe about 1000 Dollars bring you that far.
A bit more or less won't matter.

Again, let's see what / who comes up with a bit better timing.
But in general, looks like we might make a good team.
I will wait for about a week.
Let's keep contact.
