Re: 26 tanzer, crew must furnish outboard as mine in currently out of commission

Wind generators.......

I've got an air breeze as well as 200 watts of solar. By far the solar contributes more current than the wind gen day by day.

My advice, go solar first. It's cheaper and more consistent.

On a small boat you may not have a lot electric demands: No fridge/freezer, no HF radio, no auto pilot, no inverter, no microwave, etc?
On the other hand, your 4HP does not have an alternator.
A solar panel will probably be all you need, say a 55 watt panel to charge your batteries for running lights, an anchor light, VHF, music and a cabin light.

You need to go sailing first, learn your boat and what is important.
I suggest paying attention to sail and rigging as well as your anchor and rode.
The rest is gravy.
