Re: 2 girls need a one-way to virgin islands!
I spent a few weeks on spring 2009 and 2010 in Tortola and I did not see much dogs arround...!, maybe only one in the Nanny Cay Marina. The authorities will put your dog in quarentee for 40 days..! If ok they will it back to you, but if not ok, then, shark meat..!

Sorry, didn't mean to be over the top. But what would you be saying if one of these girls was YOUR daughter?

Darn, how do you do that? Ours pee and poop all over the place. Especially on the sheets.
ACtually, that's not true. They pee and poop on the foredeck (Usually on the spinnaker sheets, that bit's true). I really really want them to start going on the poop deck scoop. But I guess that's for another thread.
BTW, if they were my daughters, I'd tell them to rescue their own dog. When they get there.

They learned to pee / poop on the stern when needed... Of course we weren't at sea all the time and they had time to acclimate before sailing to the Bahamas etc.

We trained our small dog to go on a coil of rope and finally we felt comfortable. However at sea he would go to the coil, look at us and walk away shaking. Even with us hiding it did not work. So our trip to Hawaii from SF ended up being the long way to Santa Barbara in '74. Also, I think if you 2 ladies and 1 dog really exist, a photo of the three of you would pipe up this post a bit. Sure are a lot of responses to a seemly crazy request. Has it occurred to anyone that just maybe this whole thing is a joke. Looking forward to seeing those photos that Capt Fred requested.

If I wasn't stuck in Texas with less than two weeks of vacation for the rest of the year, I'd take you.
Easy to say when I definitely can't. lol

I have heard of a couple of dogs who would go over the side of the boat. Would love to ask their owners how they trained them.

I'm with Capt Fred; I think pictures should be posted, so we know what we're getting into here. (besides the one of the dog, I mean.)

Re: 2 girls need a one-way to virgin islands!
Hi Saucy,
Scotty is very fastidious. She will diligently not pee until she finds some grass (in a pinch 1 tiny blade of grass will do). So a deck is just out of the question - I mean a lady has her pride.
Crapping with her is a science. She has to sniff around and look over at least 10 places before finding one that meets her demands (they all look like great places to take a shit to me - but hey I'm not a dog so who am I?).
Matter of fact Scotty only ever peed once in our house. We had just gotten her and she did whine - we just weren't fast enough to open the door

Re: 2 girls need a one-way to virgin islands!
If your going to move ahead on this.... Get all your dogs shots /papers up to date. and get the travel papers from your vet..
Get all your papers up to date, Get a Passport if you don't already have one...
Fly down to the USVI, Decide what Is;land you want to be on, and find a boat...
Now, years ago, Coral Bay on St. John, used to have a lot of "available" boats... Some were abandoned, some available for rent, some for sale..(cheap /not cheap)
I would suggest going there to get acclimated to life in the islands.. May not be much work in the area, and eventually you might have to move for work... Don't know your monetary situation... But Coral Bay St. John is / was a great place to start...
And train your dog to not have to walk on a leash..!!!
OH, and like your Avatar....

Yeah, we all want to see the photos of the 40-something, out-of-work & overweight who are having a joke since they have nothing else to do.

Sheabutta: Contact the guy trying to figure if it is legal to dig a hole and bury his bodily waste in the Florida Keys (check previous CF threads). I think he'd be up for Ex-Calif's recommended 2-virgins / 3-way. If need be, I can sell you all a power or sailboat. We'll get this done. RJ
