You have a boat & want used parts?

There is a new search engine just for used boat parts here:
BUPS - Boat Used Part Search Engine - Home

Links to 50-100k listings from ebay, craigslist & 100+ marine sites.

For hard-to-find items, let the system search for you
as there are usually 5-10k additional listings per day.

great idea but cumbersome in practice and yields some out of date CL/eBay ads and does not pick up all current CL/eBay listings...

John,

Thanks for the feedback!

Correct, this interface is more functional than elegant.
I'm gathering user feedback to design smartphone app.
In addition to comments, I'm reviewing all the daily searches & providing suggestions where appropriate. So, keep those comments coming!

System was designed primarily for email alerts therefore listings are not completely up-to-date, correct again. These listings will be picked up on next cycle. This is similar to the way ebay & craigslist alert systems work.

Ebay & CL listings are aged off after a bit - so, while they are definitely recent there is some chance they may have been sold already.

The primary purpose of having this inventory online is that it helps in creating effective searches as the data nuances are made evident. For example, searching for Pearson will also result in person (as in life rafts) due to slight misspelling check. This can easily be "tuned" with a NOT word before creating the daily search.

Has anyone done a good test comparing it to say, SearchTempest.com ? Albeit, regardless, it's worth looking into. So thanks!
