Windpilot Pacific Plus 2

WINDPILOT - Pacific Plus 2 (auto pilot, self-steering vane)

This was fitted on an Amel Super Maramu 53' (Reverse or sugar-scoop transom).

The WindPilot has been stored for several years and is in great working condition. All moving parts work as they should.

Only one thing missing: the windvane (white wooden paddle) that is easily replaced from the company or make one yourself.

If you need more information regarding what this item does please visit the manufacturers page at windpilot.

If you have any further questions regarding the condition or other specifics of the Windpilot Pacific Plus 2 please let me know.

Photos are available upon request. I will try to upload them onto this listing as soon as possible.
PRICE: 3,900

This is a pick-up item due to the freight costs. Located in New Hampshire.

Do you have a wheel adaptor with it? Would you be willing to sell that separately? If so, please drop me a line.

Re: Windpilot Pacific Plus 2

These are auxiliary rudder vanes that steer the boat independent of the boats steering. No need to hook to the boat steering wheel so doubt he has a wheel adapter.

Have a WindPilot Pacific Plus on my boat. Steered great DDW to Hawaii in light/moderate conditions. Made a lightweight 8" x 4' oversized wind vane out of corrugated plastic. Worked way better in the 8k relative wind we had to the islands.

Ah yes. I see that now. When I posed my question the pics were not loading so I took a shot at it. I have a wind pilot my self and a aries ( I believe) wheel adapter but it does not work on my current center lock wheel setup. I wish I could find someone with the donut style OEM wind pilot adapter that I could trade mine plus cash with.

Re: Windpilot Pacific Plus 2

You could always deep six the wheel and go to a tiller like I did. Works way way better for everything especially a pendulum servo vane. (Grin)

Re: Windpilot Pacific Plus 2

=P
Thats how I got into this mess. The PO removed the wheel and made a phallic 6 foot long stainless tiller attached to the emergency post. Looked sexy but worked like crap and the leverage of the tiller started to crack the connecting point. In the end though, the rudder is not balanced for a tiller so it was just crappy work for no good reason. Put the OE wheel setup back on and it's been a HUGE upgrade.

No problem at all. Thanks for confirming.

If anyone out in the big 'ol internets see this post and has a wind pilot wheel adapter for sale, please let me know.

Granitesailor

Would you be interested in trading that Pacific Plus for a brand new, never used Monitor wind vane with all the gear? Includes everything needed.

Dear Granitesailor

Please advise:
Is your Windpilot still for sale.
Are you in the US and is the price in US Dollars.
Do you know if it can be adjusted/adapted to fit a traditional transom (The opposite way to yours)
Would you be able to ship to the UK.

Regards,

Grandpaboat.

Hello, Michael.
I apologize for the delay in responding but I am not receiving email notifications from this forum when someone asks a question. I don't check in very often. To answer your question: we no longer have the boat and therefor have no need for an auto-pilot. Thank you for your note. Take care and I hope you enjoy a life of cruising.

Hello, and thank you for your question.
First, let me apologize for the delay in responding. I don't check this forum often and apparently, I don't get emails letting me know that someone has asked a question.
Your question: Is it still for sale? : Yes. And, yes, we are in the US. (US $)
Q: Can it be adjusted for your transom?: Yes. The struts would need to be cut to fit your boat or maybe even simply reversed.
Shipping to the UK might be an issue, however. It would be pricey, I'm sure.

Sincerely, Jim
