After a long time kissing frogs - we have decided we want a Crealock 37!

The problem is there are very few in OZ, in fact only 2 I know of both of which don't meet our criteria.

So we are going to look overseas, if you have or know of a pacific Seacraft crealock 37 for sale that has been well looked after please let me know.

We are actively searching the globe, of course if it is OZ all the better.

Budget is negotiable depending on age and condition.

G'day mate!

I'm somewhat averse to giving away what I've found in the states, but it could still be a while before I'll be able to buy my own cruiser. Who am I to keep you from your dream if this is your boat?

My dream-boat is the Crealock 37 and this is the one I've had my eye on for a couple of days: 1985 Crealock 37


(It looks like it could be a really good buy, but a surveyor would definitely be King before committing.) Located in Florida. (Big tourist/major destination area for vacationers in the States. You might even think about visiting Disneyworld in Lake Buena Vista should you decide this is the one you want. You'd only be a couple hours from there, anyway.)

If you are looking for a Pacific Seacraft Crealock 37 then the one in Annapolis for 100K is loaded with gear.

There is a non PS Crealock 37 also up there. I had a friend of mine who is a yacht broker up there take a look at it out of the water last month. He said it was very nice.

Be aware that non Pacific Seacraft Crealock 37s can be of dubious build quality. The one referenced above has a saildrive You can just see it behind the stanchion in photo 3 and from behind in photo 4.

If you haulout regularly, keep up with the paint the leg and replace the zincs religiously, maybe ok. But not on a blue water cruiser.

The sail drive is what put me off but I am not that familiar with them. The guy that looked at the boat for me said that it showed signs of repair but was freshly painted with new zincs.

I was thinking that getting it somewhere in the 55k range would be a lot of boat and gear for the money.

What have you heard re the build quality?

Thanks everyone, yes the sail drive was a no no for me. I put it down to superstition but I would much rather be trying to work out how to stop a 1 inch leak than a 25 inch leak when a couple of thousand miles from anyone!

Your choice surprises me Jonathon123. It has an aft cabin with only one bunk - are the kids gonna share it? And the forrard berth is only 50" wide - strewth, I simply couldn't share something so meagre. It always amazes me that a design can boast 6'4" headroom and then provide such inadequate bunking. A v-berth forrard would at least have provided the option () of a good night's rest.

Yes, it is a tad tight. The issue has led us to another potential a Madon 44/43

Similar in the classical looks department but a more functional interior space.

I'm 6'3.5" 215# and sleep in 1983 PSC37C #149 fwd & qtr berths easily. Have fit two adults in each before - cozy but doable. The port settee is abt an 1" & the stbd one abt 4" too short for me, but I've slept on each - and others have done so more comfortably. You'll need lee clothes for all berths, a task made more complicated for wide ones. The balance btwn wide open interiors vs those more compact is that of function - the PSC37C was designed for safety at sea, perhaps slightly disadvantaging its "entertaining large groups" functionality. My calculations prioritized bluewater safety. BTW, a few of the "smaller" adult crew were barely able/unable to touch the cabin sole while holding the overhead handrails heeled racing => greater cabin height demands greater upper body strength in some common conditions.
