For Sale: Volvo Penta MD-21b Diesel Engine - 45 HP

Engine is in EXCELLENT shape and runs great. Selling because we are upgrading to something with more horse power.

The Volvo MD21-b was the Rolls Royce of engines in it's day (1980). It is a four cylinder, naturally aspirated, freshwater cooled diesel engine. It has always started right up and runs like a top! It has a brand new exhaust elbow and rebuilt fresh water pump just this year. The engine was removed from the boat in 1999 and completely rebuilt. Although there is no hour meter, since then there has been about 4,000 hours put on the engine. Mechanics are often impressed by how good she sounds and how well she runs!

HP - 75 HP, but 45 HP at the shaft
Max RPM - 4500 rpm
Idling speed - 650 rpm
Cylinder bore - 90mm
Stroke - 83
Displacement - 2.11
LH shaft rotation with transmission gear ration of 1.91:1
13x15 3 blade prop
60 amp alternator
Engine gauges with tachometer, temperature gauge, key start, oil pressure and alternator lights
Fittings for hot water tank

Spare parts include:
-New spare fuel lift pump

-Various gaskets
-Two water impellers
-Fuel filter
-Fuses
-Belts
