Used Cruiser: Where in Eastern USA Is Best ?

Just wondering where in the Eastern USA would be best for purchasing a used cruiser. I live in Canada and plan on sailing from the USA to Australia, without returning to Canada.

Why confine your search to one spot along the coast when you can search for boats that meet your criteria online and then target a few special points for your physical survey. There are a greater concentration of boats in Annapolis, Newport and Fort Lauderdale, but you might find your best candidate in Brick, NJ or Oriental, NC. I think you could miss out if you confine your grographical search too early. Take care and joy, Aythya crew

Exactly. The Internet is your friend. Use it.

I've looked in Brick,NJ and you're MUCH better off heading further South to Forked River IME. Forget the name of the place(off RT 9 IIRC) but the owner is THE original builder in Taiwan of the Marine Trader Trawlers. He's also got a few docks behind his nondescript building that are loaded with all brands of sailboats in various stages of condition at negotiable prices, though none fit my fancy.
