Take Over Your Payments 40'+

My family and I are looking to take over your payments of any 40' plus catamaran nothing older than 2000...We live in Florida...My wife said it's time to set sail...We have 2 children 2 & 7...We need the room so thats why we are looking for a 40'plus catamaran family friendly...Planning to sail for a year if not longer...So if you are tired of making those payments (dockage, insurance, maintenance), do not have the time to enjoy your cat or maybe just need a break for a year or so maybe we can take over your payments...We are open to 2 options:
option 1: take over your remaining payments
option 2: take over your payments for a year with option for another 6 months

I'm sure there are plenty of sailors here who would be happy to have you take over their boat payments! You're also welcome to take over their house payments, car payments, utilities payments, insurance payments, credit card payments . . . What's that? Ohhhhh . . . he wants the boat toooo . . .

Never mind.

What exactly does a little work entail? Also, what are the payments and are you interested in us taking over the remaining payments or just for a period of time? Where is the boat located?

no boat for sale, I'm just now getting it like I want it. It's paid for and I'm retiring to her in 10 months, 26 days, and a few hours give or take.
Also; Perhaps you're not familiar with the Beneteau series of MONOHULL boats, they aren't Cats.

Long Term Charter?

Actually--If you think about it for a moment, it's probably not such a bad proposition for a short while, so long as everything is covered, including wear and tear and insurance; and, there's sufficient financial strength behind it. Right now I know of several yacht owners that are in difficulty and are trying to sell their boats as they can no longer afford the payments to say nothing of slip fees et al. As a practical matter such an arrangement would merely amount to a long term charter, no?

FWIW...

Yes...if you know of anyone in serious trouble of making payments, etc. please forward them our information. We are looking to either take over the remainder of their payments or looking to as you say do a long term charter. Either way we will both be able to benefit from this transaction. Thanks for the post.

Here you go. BVI bareboat charter and bare boat rental in the Caribbean Scroll down, pick the name of the charterer you're interested in, click on the name and it will bring up a page with that charterer's fleet and rates.

As a rough rule of thumb, figure at least $3000/week in the low season to twice that during high season. It only goes up from there.

Long term charter

I was looking into this a while back - there really isn't such a thing as a 'long term charter'. The charter companies I spoke to all had a maximum charter period of a couple of weeks.
I've gone down the route of buying and reselling, and treating the difference as the charter cost, but its allot of messing around. I've got a boat (almost) on offer. If this 'take over the payments' thing works, I'd be up for a 40' mono!

cheers
James

Wow guess you have to have a lot of money to do a long term charter.
I can't imagine leasing our boat for a year. I would never consider anything other than a crewed charter and honestly would not be thrilled with that idea either.
I imagine there are people somewhere that would consider it for the right price.
Good luck,

We are really looking to take over the payments for someone who is in need of letting go of some financial burden or for someone who has had their cat on the market for some time with no luck with selling.
