The wide beam of the Sun-Kiss 47 affords an airy appointment in which nothing is out of place. The lateral beaming of the coach roof gives a particular character to the saloon, which hails back to the days of wooden construction with beaming extending from the floor beams. The double series of of horizontal screens offer exceptional natural lighting.
The overall finish of the Sun-Kiss 47 is superb with its genuine teak woodwork and "solid wood" moldings. The saloon leads onto the 3 cabins. The ample headroom of the aft cabins, the uncluttered entry, dorade ventilation, good sized stowage shelves, separate head/washbasin, hanging lockers and direct access to the central head compartment; all these features contribute to the comfort of those aboard.
The forward owner's cabin spans the entire beam with a Pullman berth to port and a short settee with a writing desk to starboard. With tons of storage and access to the sail locker through the large forward head. (The sail locker is accessible through a deck hatch also.)
The saloon, along traditional lines, remains the pleasant centerpiece of this yacht. It's spacious living area surrounding the central table with its slightly oval lines complementing the arched beams. Also notice the bookshelf above the bar, the broad chart table, the new (Blue Seas) electric panels, the clever little touches in the setback galley, and the boats numerous stowage lockers.
On a unit of this size everything must be provided for long cruises, 4 tanks of 120l each water tanks, a powerful alternator for charging, a strong electric windlass, three sleeping cabins for lots of crew or extra storage and much more.

History:
Original owner (Italian) sailed from Europe to South America from 1984 till 2005.
Then it was owned by a couple who did not sail much from 2005 to 2007.
Then in 2007 a family did an extensive refit and sailed to New Zealand.
The actual owners bought the vessel in French Polynesia and sailed all the way to the Philippines. For personal reasons, they decided to live back in France on land.
The boat is ready to continue sailing around the world – ready for blue water cruising.
The fridge is a classic marine FrigoBoat .. the freon was recharged completely 3 years ago in PNG. It should be fine for many years.

AC unit is a regular household unit bought here in Philippines to cool the boat in the marina. You only use it when you are plugged on shore power or you have to run a small portable generator.
The engine should be cleaned, all routine maintenance done new and checked before going away (as you would do with any engine that did not run for a while). That motor was installed, professionally re-conditioned in NZ and installed a few years ago. It is unusually powerful for this size boat (estimated to be near 100HP) but that will be useful in SE Asia where you end up motoring more often than in other places… Makes 5-6 knots at low RPM!
The rigging was completely checked in French Polynesia just before coming here. Everything was fine except the backstay that was replaced
The hull was checked in French Polynesia for osmosis and none was found (perhaps because the boat was a long time in dry Mexico out of the water??)
Sure there must be a few small things to do on the sails or engine but the boat is quite reliable … we came to Philippines all the way from French Polynesia without problems except the gearbox that was well repaired in Indonesia just before arrival here in the Philippines
The owners left everything on board: equipment, tools, kitchenware, … since they did not decide to sell before they went back to France. You have full of things that you would never get when buying a new boat or even a used boat.
All in all it is a great deal for whoever buys her and sail with her around the world. The Sun Kiss design is well known and has a very good reputation among boat designs.
