Steel Van de Stadt 36 Falco cutter rig

British made, Dutch designed, strong as hell. Launched in 1992, fit out for safe off-shore cruising and as a comfortable live-aboard. Beautiful sailer and solid platform in a bad weather seaway. Worried about those rocky lee shores and submerged shipping containers come loose off the big ships? We are talking steel, well coated and maintained that way. There is a reason commercial vessels are made of this material, as well as many serious world circumnavigating yachts. This lovely center cockpit 36 footer has welded chainplates and steel life-rails (not 'lines'), flush decks fore and aft, hard dodger with plenty of custom canvas for rough weather underway or swinging on a sunny anchor. Big 61hp Lehman diesel, solar and wind gen, upgraded electronics, full complement of sail in great condition (main is tanbark), boom gallows, Ares wind vane and much more. Current Coast Guard documented (former Loydes of London). Very sorry to have to part with her, but life takes us in new directions, and mine is inland.

Lots of pictures and details.

Asking $67,500 USD.

Re: Steel Van de Stadt 36 Falco cutter rig

She's a beauty! I have a 29' Steel Van de Stadt. Very secure at sea, hoping to sail her from UK to Brasil for the football World Cup in 2014. If I had a few quid spare, I'd buy yours though, could do with the extra inches!! good luck with the sale, someone will fall in love with her..

Many thanks for the kind words, you all. She is sweet, and a lot of boat.

Sailor_Hutch, thanks for reminding me about the listing on Yachtworld. Here's the link again:
1992 Van De Stadt Custom Cutter Sail Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com

She is being offered by my swell broker, Forbes Horton, in Annapolis. She's on the hard right now at Jabin's Yard, for those of you that know where that is.

I'm attaching some addition pics, but there's a bunch on the Official Listing.

Cheers!

My wife and I have been stalking your boat on Yachtworld for some time now. Slightly out of my price range but thanks for the fantasy fodder.

Re: Steel Van de Stadt 36 Falco cutter rig

Hi Ben, and thanks for your note. Good to know folks out there have been following along. I don't know how long you've been watching, but we have decided to lower the asking price to $60K. I think the Yachtworld ad has just been adjusted in the last two days. We're interested in selling her this summer or fall, so I will certainly listen to reasonable offers. Let me know if we are approaching your range and you want to take a closer look. We're hauled in Annapolis, Maryland right now.

Best,

Harry
