While $1000 is rather ambitious, the comments aren't quite fair.

You can get the set pictured on the left for under $100 brand new.

HOWEVER, the set on the right is a completely different animal. THAT is a 3/4" drive set. Stanley # 85-965. Unfortunately, Stanley no longer seems to make that set. New, that set retails for around $400!!!!

If it were me, and it's not, I would keep the 1/4" 3/8" 1/2" drive set. It is very handy. Even if you don't truly know how to use it, someone that you ask for help, will know how to use it.

I would list the 3/4 drive set on ebay. The (similar) ratchet alone is going for $50-$80 and that set looks (almost?) new!! A smaller set is listed for $319. I would also look and see if you see the name "Proto". That is one of the professional lines of Stanley.

You might want to keep a hold of them, each set sells for about $100 bucks or less at your local Walmart. They now carry Stanley Tools.

My rule of thumb is to pay no more than 50% of new for buying used things (even if they haven't been technically used before).
