Re: SS Rod Rigging for 54' mast - $450

Rigging came off a 1988 CS 36 Merlin that was in San Francisco Bay. Boat was owned by an older man from Reno who would come down & day sail the bay. He is 84 years old. When I bought the boat I had the rigging surveyed by Brian Toss[google him up]. His comment was"well it looks like he was saving this boat for you, it has seen very little use".
We decided to re=rig as we are heading offshore this spring & felt that the $ extra $2400 was insurance.
If you know about rod rigging it is at the ends where the wear is. If it is to go on a smaller mast there is not a problem. Please feel free to get in touch.
Thanks Alan

Re: SS Rod Rigging for 54' mast - $450

I am not sure of the lengths, which would be a total hassle to unwrap & measure but I know that we have the Tall rig with the deepest keel they built. Very stiff boat.
The thickness of the rods is.020 & .080.The ends that terminate at the mast were snipped off at attachment points.
You can determine the lengths by going to CS Yachts website & saildata.com

The CS website has a phenomenal knowledge base & people are very good at answering questions,I am sure that someone can direct you to that info.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks Alan

Hi Alan,
I think if you can’t be bothered to measure the lengths, like I have done with my surplus wire, then you can’t expect anyone to be bothered to buy it.
