1992 Shuttleworth Tek35 located in North Carolina set up for extended cruising. I just had twin boys so I'm looking to downsize to more of a daysailer. The boat is 35' at waterline and 40' with bowsprit, 25' beam and 7' draft/3' with board up. You can beach with kick up spade rudders! Set up with full batten main, self tending Camberspar jib, genoa and an asymmetrical with ATM sleeve. Powered by two 9.9 Yamaha hight thrust outboards.Solar, airex wind, watermaker, inverters and much more This is a open bridgedeck cat that is fast but very roomy. Three double cabins and two more convertible doubles and two heads. Carbon and Kevlar foam construction makes for a tough, stiff and light hulls. Actually that's how I located your post here. A friend of ours who already owns one sent us the link this morning cause he knows we are looking. The only other online info I found was this thread you posted, which is a few years later then the blog posts by the previous owners. Has any other work been done to the vessel since your purchase? Do you have anymore photos? Is the vessel needing any work (sail condition, rigging etc)? I'm sure Matthew will want to ask you technical questions once he gets back from work. Thank you. --Julie

Interesting boat, What's your feeling/experience with the open bridge-deck, is it wet? What kind of speed can you expect from her in cruising mode?

The open bridge deck has been great! It gives you plenty of room for crew/guest(easily seating 12 in cockpit, great ventilation compared to a stuffy salon, great 360 degree visibility(no wall to look over) , and is safer going forward along centerline of boat instead of around a cabin and person at the wheel doesn't lose contact with crew forward. It can be wet but with curtains installed ( I've removed but easily replaced) there is alway a dry lee to tuck into, especially with dual helms.
As far as "cruising speeds", I assume you mean loaded down. The boat floats a load well but like most cats is sensitive. The nice thing is that it starts lighter and faster than most cats. I'm able to easily keep boat speed in the 7/8 knt range with 15-18 knt wind speed forward of beam. Off the wind you can surf it into the mid teens easily. This is without pushing the boat or crew and reefing early and with older Dacron sails.

Yes, it's set up to easily single-hand. Most of running rigging can be attended to from the cockpit.
I've have few interested parties but nobody has sign the dotted line. So yes it's still available.
