Want To Buy: Sewing Machine

I am looking to buy a sewing machine that can do straight and zig zag. I have done some research on the web and have found out about a few models by different manufactures that are good for doing marine work such as sails, sumbrella, etc. I am located in Key West, FL and am willing to pay shipping. Almost any machine will do that.
I've seen ads on Ebay advertise a Featherweight and call it "Heavy Duty".
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Visit a few local sewing machine service shops and tell them what you want to sew.
You ought to be able to find a used one locally that will serve you nicely.
Most home machines will suffice unless you want to sew into the corner of a big sail.
Some recommendations:
Viking Husqvarna with low gear, but watch for stiff knobs.
Berninas, great, but you will pay top dollar.
Old Singers with model numbers below 500 are good.
Most Pfaff's are built well.
I am puzzled by the cult like following of Pfaff 130. It's a good machine but not THAT good.
