Sails for a Catalina 27

A friend of mine, powerboat guy, bought himself a Catalina 27 (without thinking to ask me). She has no sails. Anybody got spares off an original 27 still in useful shape? I'll consider a name loft replacement as well, if they were made for this exact vessel. Since it's not for me, I don't want to get him into sails where some aspect of size or shape isn't right.

Thanks!

JT

P.S. This is for me, in that I'm the one buying the sails. It's just not my vessel, and I won't be around to help him figure it out if they don't fit properly.

Re: Sails for a Catalina 27

It just so happens I have a full set of serviceable sails for a Catalina 27. I know they fit because I took them off my Catalina 27 and replaced them with new ones. The boat they were on is a 1974 Catalina 27 standard rig. The main looks to be standard sized; I BELIEVE the jib to be a 135, but I didn't buy it new so I can't be sure. Nonetheless, while both are showing their age they ARE both serviceable and sailed the Catalina 27 on the Chesapeake Bay just fine. I'd be looking for around $550 for both. They come neatly rolled up, each in their own sailbag. Neither has any rips or tear that I can see and no major repairs of any sort. I live in Northern VA, and the boat is in ShadySide, so I would be happy to show the sails in either location. I was getting ready to post to Craigs List, so contact me soon.
