S2 9.2A

We're spending all our time on our Amazon 49, and are looking to sell our S2. She's been in freshwater at least 10 years, although I think she was in Kemah in the distant past.

1979 S2 9.2A “Boa Sorte” hull # 235
LOA: 29’11” Draft: 4’11” Beam: 10’3” Displacement: 9,800
Hull: Fiberglass sloop Engine: Yanmar 2GMF diesel
Solid freshwater boat looking for a new owner! This beautiful sailboat is spacious enough for a liveaboard and fast as a cruiser or racer. Edson wheel steering and inboard diesel auxiliary make her look and feel larger than she is.

The following work was completed at her last haulout in the summer of 2005:
 Topsides faired and painted with Interlux
 Trinidad antifouling bottom paint
Paint mast and boom
 Install Harken MK III roller furler
 Replaced forestay
 Replaced running rigging
 Quarter-sized blisters filled (6-8 of these)

Work completed in 2008:
 New Bimini with chafe protection strips, new straps and adjusters
 Binnacle compass sent to Ritchie for rebuild

Work completed 2005:
Recut genoa, installed #6 Luff tape and black sunbrella UV cover
main cleaned and restitched. Minor repair to batten pockets.
Work completed 2012:
* lifelines replaced
Features include:
 Reliable and easy to maintain Yanmar diesel engine
 Great engine access
 2 Single speed winches for halyards
 2 Two speed winches for jib/Genoa sheets
roller furling genoa
Spinnaker and pole
 pressure deck washdown pump
 Excellent ventilation. Solar powered vent keeps cabin from developing mold or smelling musty
VHF radio
 CD player/stereo with Bose speakers
 Stern rail with lowering swim ladder
Emergency tiller
 Hanging locker and storage under berths, settees and large size sail locker aft
 speed and depth instruments (wind instruments need repair)
Edson pedestal steering with integral engine controls
Pedestal mounted Ritchie binnacle compass with night light
Holding tank approved for “no discharge” zones
 Pressure water in head and galley.
 carpeted headliner helps keep the boat dry
sloop rigged, fin keel, skeg rudder

Work needed:
 hull buffed
wind instrument is not reading
 bottom job
mainsail is serviceable, but well used
 Engine compartment soundproofing needs to be replaced
Interior: L-shaped galley with deep sink, ice box and two burner alcohol stove, berths for 4 to 6 including quarterberth, separate enclosed head, navigator chart table, seven under berth storage lockers, three teak hanging lockers, solid teak trim and bulkheads.

Asking price: $16,500
